My First Kentucky Buck

My First Kentucky Buck
with Photo

I hunted a small patch of woods between some large corn and soybean fields.  I killed this deer on the last day of our week long hunt.  The background photo on the main page of the blog is of this soybean field.  This property is within 2 miles of small town in Christian County Kentucky where we stay while hunting.  I saw several bucks during this hunt and was unable to get a shot on a nice 10 pt that good buddy killed.  It was a great week in Pemebroke Ky.  And I always look forward to our yearly hunts in Western Ky.  We have not hunted this farm in a few years now after a family purchased the old place and built a Dairy farm.

This buck was in full rut and had been fighting hard earlier in the week.  His face and ears were ripped up but he looks pretty good on the wall.

We took 3 good bucks during this hunt and passed on many smaller deer.
